Dog Gone Bad

Well, Travis and Cameron were about 2 miles away from picking up "PEPSI" when they recieved a phone call from the owner stating that the dog was pregnant. Okay, so I had to draw the line. Not only was she pregnant, but pregnant with muts & I was already having a rough time taking in 1 dog let alone 6-9 dogs. Travis broke the news to Cameron and he was devastated (along with his dad). After seeing how upset the were, I knew despite my dog fears we had to find a dog. So, we have been looking all day and Cameron continues to ask if we have found one yet. What an adventure!!

A DOG

I can't believe it, but my husband and son are currently on their way to get a chocolate lab. My son has already name it "PEPSI." ( I prefer Mountain Dew) I was raised with dogs, but truly never wanted one. I am really having mixed feelings. I spent a lot of money on my new yard and the hygiene of a dog just makes me cringe. On the other hand, it is a great thing for my husband and son and they are so excited. It's already almost 2, so we are out of the puppy stages. All I can say is there is going to be a lot of adjusting for me and a lot of responsibility for my son and husband. Any words of advice would be appreciated. Stay tune for some pictures.

Happy Anniversary

I have to say I am pretty excited for our 10 yr because we finally our going on a vacation. We booked a trip to Mexico just outside of Cancun. I am nervous to leave my kids, but know they will be in good hands. It has been a while since Travis and I have just focused on each other. With kids and work I have found that it is all to easy to put your relationship on hold. It will be a good trip, but I will be excited to get back and squeeze my kids (not to mention get off the plane).
Somedays I feel like I have been married for a lot longer than 10yrs and other days I am still trying to get it all figured out. Despite some rocky roads, I am very grateful for the man I have married. He is a wonderful father and a great husband. There are so many things I have learned over the last 10 yrs. Without the experiences I have had in my marriage; I would have never had the opportunity to grow and for this I am grateful. I look forward to a lot more years of tears, laughter, & memories that will help me continue to learn how to love. Thank you Travis for everything.

Chasing after Brinley

This is one place I can always find our little Angel!!

As if there wasn't enough on the floor; she opens more

Done with the drawer, I 'll try the cabinet

Oh boy, I was caught in the hallway this time.

Our sweet little Brinley keeps me running all day long. By the time I pick up one mess, she is to the next room making another. Despite the craziness-you gotta love her. (Apologize for the date on the photos, my camera was set wrong).

Small and Simple Things

"The real moment of success is the moment not apparent to the crowd"
George Bernard Shaw

I don't know about anybody else, but for me this quote helped me to find a new perspective. As a mother of young children, there are so many things we do on a daily basis yet feel like we never accomplish anything. This last week has been a little challenging for me lately because there was so much I wanted to do, but was able to accomplish very little of them. One night I was talking to my mom and expressing my frustrations when she told me, "You are a mother and taking care of your children is accomplishing a lot." Thanks mom for reminding me about the important things. Hence, the title of my blog "One Day at a Time." Often times I feel if I can keep a perspective on my life it helps things to be a little less overwhelming. One of my greatest accomplishments this week was teaching my 1 yr old, Brinley, to wink. It is so cute. Have a great day!!!

MISS PHOTOGENIC

We had family pictures taken about 1 month ago and Taiylor is so not afraid to be the the light. Before it was her turn for individual pictures, she was already laying on the ground posed and ready for pictures. The photographer had a lot of fun and as you can see, so did Taiylor.

FOLLOWING A CLOSE SECOND IN HER SISTERS FOOTSTEPS
Brinley's pictures turned out cute, but only lasted a few minutes!!

THEN...IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWN
Our infamous Cameron. Always making people laugh!!

Finally after a lot of trial and error, I have figured out how to put a background on my blog. Everybody says it is so easy, but unfortunatley it didn't come that easy for me. Thanks sis for helping me put it together.

I decided to start into this blog thing for a few reasons:

1) It seems to be the way people communicate these days

2) My husband bought me a new laptop (pink) for Christmas

3) It seemed like something fun

4) I want to brag about my kids too.

5) I am hoping it will help me keep up with what's going on in my own life!!!

So, let me tell you a little more about me and my family. I have three beautiful children who are pictured above; Taiylor, Cameron, and Brinley. They are great kids, but keep me busy. Taiylor is in first grade and loves to make friends. Taiylor's teacher always says she if very "helpful." I have to question her to make sure that is not a kind way to say "bossy," but her teacher reassures me that it's not. She is a great girl and is growing up way to fast. Cameron is our little jokester and loves to torment his sisters. He is in preschool and has truly enjoyed his class. It has helped to bring him out of his shell. Unlike his older sister he gets a little shy around others. Brinley just turned one and has been a true joy in our lives. She is a great mix of Taiylor and Cameron. Her favorite things to do is beg for food, give great kisses, and shake her head "NO." She has kept me very busy as she enjoys getting into everything. I appreciate the help of the older two to monitor where she is at. Travis, my husband, owns a counseling agency in Idaho Falls. It keeps him busy, but he still finds time to give me breaks and spend time as a family. He's a great dad and husband. Beside being a mom, I work part-time as an Emergency Nurse and a clinical instructor in a nursing program. Well, that's us. I look forward to further entries and hope it helps me to keep up on photos of my family.
